Author Guidelines

While submission to SMS Journal of Business Management is free for authors, we do ask authors to strictly prepare their manuscript according to the following guidelines:

  1. Authors should kindly note submission implies that the content has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere except as a brief abstract in the proceedings of a Seminar, Conference or symposium.
  2. Once the submission materials have been prepared in accordance with the Author Guidelines, manuscripts should be submitted online at submission link.
  3. We accept both original research articles and comprehensive review papers on relevant topics in the domain of management.
  4. The articles should be checked for plagiarism. The articles should be within 10 % similarity index. Submission with high similarity index will lead to desk rejection of articles.
  5. Manuscripts should be in English (British / American). The length of articles is normally not greater than 5,000 words but should not exceed 7,000 words, including an abstract and references.
  6. The manuscript should be prepared in MS Word, printed in 12 size Times New Roman typeface, 1.5-line space on A4 paper (21.0 cm x 29.7 cm) with the 2.54 cm margin on all sides.
  7. The manuscript should include the title, abstract, keywords, main text, references and notes, tables and figures; but not the names of authors, their biographical notes or any acknowledgements or any other identifying information.
  8. Divide the manuscripts into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2 ...), 1.2, etc. (the abstract is not included in section numbering).
  9. Tables and Figures must be titled and numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. Provide sources clearly on the bottom of every table and figure.
  10. For equations, all but very short mathematical expressions should be displayed on a separate line and centred. Equations must be numbered consecutively on the right margin, using Arabic numerals in parentheses.
  11. SMS Journal of Business Management adheres to the APA 7th edition reference style. View the APA guidelines to ensure your manuscript conforms to this reference style.
  12. Manuscript should be carefully checked for grammatical and spelling errors, consistency of references, clarity of expression and readability, such as sentence structure, jargon use, acronyms, to minimize editorial changes.
  13. Please acknowledge anyone who contributed to the study but did not meet the authorship criteria. Additional information if any can be submitted in the notes to editor during submission.
  14. Please acknowledge the sources of financial support, if any, received for the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article. In case of any sponsorship or funding received for the research do mention the details in the notes to editor during article submission.
  15. The Manuscript should be uploaded in the portal of journal website www.smsjbm.com.
